Commercial CPA review courses are not accepted.

Minimum criteria for experience

  • For initial issuance: 2 years
  • Candidates are not required to operate directly under a licensed CPA, but the experience must be verified by an active CPA
  • 4 years of reciprocity

The Verification of Experience form, which must be notarized and sent to the Board, must be completed by your supervising CPA. Send a sealed envelope to the Indiana State Board of Accountancy, Professional Licensing Agency. It is not a good idea to send via email. You should not try to send by email.

Residency requirement

The state of Indiana has no residency requirements.

Renewal of CPA license in Indiana

  • Renewal periods are July 1 to June 30 on a three-year cycle (triennial fixed)
  • Reporting periods for CPEs are January 1 to December 31; three-year intervals are used (triennial fixed)
